Yes, it is true... as gold is a excellent conductor, if you see a micro sd card, it is not having any gold threads used in manufacturing, but if you see a SD card(the big one used in digital cameras) has gold thread, but it has no value, as it is very very thin, and as much as i know, they are like tungston filament.
